Guys, I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but it’s fall. Lovely, leafy, crisp fall! I love fall, if you couldn’t tell. And within this beautiful season are Halloween and Thanksgiving! Two holidays essentially dedicated to eating! Yippee! A food blogger’s dream!
What’s another great thing about this season? PUMPKIN. And lots of it! So I set about to create the perfect pumpkin bread recipe. Challenge accepted.
I’ve had so many pumpkin breads in the past that just don’t do justice to the pumpkin flavor. Don’t get me wrong, they still taste good, but in my opinion something named pumpkin bread should really have pumpkin as its most prominent flavor, without a jumble of too many spices overpowering the it.
So I include small amounts of four spices in this recipe: cinnamon, allspice, ginger and nutmeg. I found that this combination of spices nicely compliments the pumpkin flavor without overpowering it.
This bread really could not be easier to make. There’s no mixer needed and it only takes about 10 minutes of hands-on time to whip together. Then you can sit back, relax and inhale the aroma of fresh pumpkin bread baking in your oven as you admire the fall colors through the window. Ahhhh, fall.
So get going! I promise you won’t regret it! Plus, there’s chocolate chips involved!!
